This large Maori Fish Hook Trophy is a beautiful piece of carving made right here in New Zealand using native timber.

The Maori Manaia carries a spiritual meaning. The Manaia was believed to be a spiritual guardian, warding off danger and protecting from intruders. The carving shows elements of beings from the sky, earth and sea, showing how the Manaia is a guardian over sky, earth and sea. The more manaia are on a carving, the more sacred (tapu) it becomes.

Proudly made in New Zealand from Kauri wood. There are always very slight differences in colours and carvings of hand carved products.

To avoid offending any Iwi or tribal groups, the designs are generic and representative of common Maori motifs.

Engraving on the front of the base stand can be done either with a Golden Plaque or Laser Engraved.
