Ring sizes
Stonex rings are made to New Zealand and UK letter sizing. Our current range runs from P to Z+6, and a number of pieces are one of a kind in a single size — the size shown on a product page is the size that piece is.
The most reliable way to find your size is to be measured on a proper ring gauge. You are welcome to come into the Ōtāhuhu showroom and be sized in a couple of minutes, at no charge and with no obligation.
Measuring at home
If you already own a ring that fits the same finger, measure the inside width across the middle of the band and bring that measurement to us — it is far more accurate than measuring your finger with string or paper, which stretches and gives a size or two of error.
Fingers change size through the day and with the weather. Measure late in the day, at normal room temperature, and not straight after exercise.
Resizing
Many, though not all, rings can be resized. Set stones, patterned bands, tension settings and some alternative metals limit what can safely be done. Ask us about a specific piece before you buy and we will tell you honestly what is possible.
Chains and necklaces
Chain lengths in the current range are 45cm, 50cm, 55cm, 60cm, 65cm and 70cm. As a rough guide on an average adult: 45cm sits at the base of the neck, 50cm just below the collarbone, and 55–60cm on the chest, which is the usual choice for a pendant worn over clothing.
To check a length you already like, measure an existing chain from end to end including the clasp.
Bracelets and bangles
Bracelet lengths in the current range are 19cm, 21cm, 23cm and 25cm. Measure snugly around the wrist just below the wrist bone, then add roughly 1.5–2cm for a comfortable bracelet, or a little less for a bangle you want to sit close.
Still not sure?
Ask us. Call the showroom, or send a message through the contact page and describe the piece you are looking at — we would rather help you get it right first time than have a ring come back.
