Choosing April diamond jewellery
Diamond is the April birthstone, and most pieces here are set with diamonds in gold. Rings make up the largest share, from dress and promise rings to engagement rings, wedding bands and two-piece bridal sets. Pendants, earrings and a couple of chains sit alongside them.
Each listing says whether the diamonds are natural or lab-grown. Both are diamond; a lab-grown stone is formed in a laboratory rather than mined.
Look for two details in the title. The carat figure, or TDW (total diamond weight), is the combined weight of every diamond in the piece. Where colour and clarity grades are shown, such as EF colour and VS clarity, they describe how white and how clean the stones are.

What is sterling silver, and will it tarnish?
Sterling silver is 92.5% silver, the standard for fine silver jewellery. Like all silver it can darken over time; store it dry, away from perfume and chemicals, and polish it with a silver cloth.
What's the difference between 9ct, 14ct and 18ct gold?
The carat says how much pure gold is in the metal: 9ct is 37.5%, 14ct is 58.5% and 18ct is 75%. Lower carats are harder-wearing and more affordable; higher carats have a richer colour. The carat is stated on each listing.

Can I return an item?
