Genuine New Zealand Pounamu (Greenstone), sourced and hand carved in Aotearoa (New Zealand). Pounamu is of great cultural significance for Māori and is believed to enhance mana (prestige) of its possessor. This intricate, hand-carved pendant of New Zealand Pounamu is an elegant addition to any look, suspended from an adjustable cord.

In Māori mythology, a fish hook, or Hei Matau, crafted from whale bone was used to pull up New Zealand’s North Island. The hook is traditionally seen as a symbol of strength, determination, leadership, peace, prosperity and good fortune.

Care
  • Wipe your greenstone with a soft cloth. If it needs more, use a little warm water with mild soap and a soft cloth, then dry it; never use brushes, scourers or abrasive cleaners.
  • Avoid hard knocks and drops: stone can chip or break.
  • Keep it away from household chemicals and take it off for the gym and manual work.
  • Check the cord or chain regularly and replace it when it shows wear.
