Description

Genuine New Zealand Pounamu (Greenstone), sourced and hand carved in Aotearoa (New Zealand). Pounamu is of great cultural significance for Māori and is believed to enhance mana (prestige) of its possessor. The pepe toki are excellent size for a baby which comes with traditional binding and adjustable cord.

Toki are now worn around the neck as a symbol of strength, courage and determination. The shape represents a tool often used by Māori for carving, shaping, and weaponry and was originally used for practical purposes.

  • Wipe your greenstone with a soft cloth. If it needs more, use a little warm water with mild soap and a soft cloth, then dry it; never use brushes, scourers or abrasive cleaners.
  • Avoid hard knocks and drops: stone can chip or break.
  • Keep it away from household chemicals and take it off for the gym and manual work.
  • Check the cord or chain regularly and replace it when it shows wear.
