About men’s belcher chains

A belcher chain is made of round or oval links joined one to the next, a simple and sturdy pattern that suits wearing on its own or with a pendant. This page lists men’s and unisex belcher chains in 9ct gold and sterling silver. Each listing gives the metal, the link width and the length or lengths it comes in.

Round or oval, solid or light

Belcher chains here come with round links or oval links. Round links look even and traditional. Oval links are a little longer, which gives a smoother line around the neck.

Codes in the titles help you compare. B3 and B4 are round belcher patterns, while BO3 and DBO45 are oval. Check the link width on each listing to see how chunky the chain will look.

Weight differs too. Solid chains are metal all the way through and feel substantial. The hollow gold chain looks full but weighs less, and the lightweight oval silver styles are easy to wear every day.

Most chains close with a parrot clasp, which opens with a small spring lever. One silver chain has a running T-bar instead. For other link patterns, see men’s rope chains, or browse men’s gold chain styles.
